Educational philosophy and goals:
My educational philosophy focuses on the Golden Rule of "treat others how you would like to be treated". As a future elementary school teacher, I feel that a strong use of differentiation, specialized lesson planning and explicit learning instruction will help all students flourish. While I love History/Social Studies, helping young children explore, interact and learn the many components of English and Language Arts is something I've always wanted to do.

My educational goals are all centered around a creating a safe and positive learning environment for all students. Promoting an inclusive classroom, where students individual needs are consistently addressed and accommodated for. Seeing a student have that "light bulb moment" is more meaningful than other test score could ever be, personally. With this being said, the correct instruction that meets the CCSS (Common Core State Standards) and learning objective of all lesson plans is also key to the students' success.
For ESL students specifically, I found that through careful research and major assistance through the SIOP model
Lessons on topics such as Reading, Grammar, Vocabulary, Listening, Pronunciation, Slang/Idioms and many others would benefit each and every student. It is important to always keep in mind how they might be feeling, especially if they are new to the classroom or even country.
